pregnancy and infant loss awareness month

via the MISS Foundation
many people will tell you to "think pink" or "save the tata's" this month.
and as much as i am for breast cancer awareness, i think it needs to slide over and share the spotlight with an equally important cause.

1 in 4
it staggers my mind to know that the chances of you and i to be effected by miscarriage, stillbirth, sids, all forms of babyloss is ONE in FOUR. that is 25%!!!!!!!! and what is more shocking, is the taboo and shame that surrounds it.

the reason this is so near to my heart is not that i am the 1 in 4 as of now, it is because of my dear friend stephanie. her and her precious son, bentley, opened my eyes to the reality of living without your child. and let me tell you, it is a journey that no person should ever go on.

so i'm asking all of you to wear pink and blue this month- to remember all the babies gone far too soon. and to any babyloss mom reading this, please let me share my deepest condolences.... and never apologize for remembering your sweet baby(ies).

rain, rain, go away

my impression of my 3 year old "angry" face
how to be in a bad mood
rainy day+weird sleep+grocery shopping= cranky bad mood

luckily this little face always makes a bad mood better

also, a nice hubby who comes home from work and sings silly songs to me whilst dancing in our kitchen, while i'm making dinner
and talking- just the two of us

that makes any bad mood disappear pouf!

zombie days

I have renamed monday. it is now zombie day.

because i am running on little to no sleep after working weekend nights. j naps a little bit in the morning, thank goodness, but only enough to give me just enough sleep to keep my eyes open.

i did make dinner though, so 1000000 points for me.

above is my face at 1:50 am- wide awake. i did eventually nap for about 4 hours after dinner, so now i get to browse the web(does anyone even call it that anymore?) and read my favorite blog from start to finish[mad reading skills over here]

ducks and swings

Momma and baby moccasins <3

now that i'm part time nights, i have all week long to play house, which is pretty fabulous. and since i've been a bad girl, and banned from shopping, i have to find other things to do. in my area, other than some shopping(not the greatest) and eating, there isn't a lot to get into. (all the outdoorsy things are too remote and not very safe to do without a group or a big dog).

but we do have a nice city park

thank goodness.

and so, today our afternoon was spent at that park. we swung together, then he swung by himself for the very first time! he was so excited, little cheek, arms shaking with a big grin. and there were ducks and geese to be fed, and paths to be walked... such a good afternoon!

gotta add a shot of the ourfit- comfy and laid-back

it's the most wonderful time of the year

it is fall!!!!!!

his mocs via this lovely esty shop

it is my most favorite season. i love everything about it- the leaves, smells, the weather, but most of all the clothes!!!!! i mean really, who doesn't love the clothes? i absolutely love the color schemes, and layering with the chunky sweaters, and scarves and jackets. and the textures...ahhh! i could go on and on!!!

plus the cooler temperatures are much more conducive to cuddling, and who doesn't need more of that?!

a day at the fair

this past week, we went to the great frederick fair! it was jude's first time at a fair, so we were pretty excited. what can i say; the smells, the sounds, the FOOD!!!! and here there are animals, rides and games to play(and apparently a hole in our pockets- ouch!)

evil noisy roosters
this sweet girl was more jude's speed

we loved the animals- ok, maybe i loved them, jude wasn't too sure, and gerson only was amused by the sweet foal. but since j is such a little guy, this was one of our main reasons for coming. i was rather disappointed in the poultry house though, they had so many noisy roosters, that it was hardly enjoyable to see the ducks and pretty chickens.

the one ride we could get on was the ferris wheel. since it was the middle of the week, there was no line and they let us go around several times. there's just something about ferris wheels that make me so nostalgic....

but who are we kidding...we ALL know it's the food that lures us into the jumbled mess!!!

and that disgusting-bad-for-you-heart-attack-in-a-bun-greasy-mess of food was DELICIOUS! (not pictured was the corn dog that i inhaled. basically we got there, and ate, walked around and saw the animals, and ate, walked some more and rode the ferris wheel, and finished with the day with a delectable funnel cake! yum!

a laid-back, food-filled day. just what the doctor ordered!
